John Gardner once said in honor of James Joyce, "There are those who know more than any one can afford to know " This quotation is especially befitting of Joyce, who wrote about what he knew, in a style that broke away from the classic writing of the period. In his short stories about Dublin and his poetry, James Joyce used unique, ambiguous endings to question his readers, and force them to think about what they did and didn't know. This website is dedicated to looking at just a few of the short stories and poems by James Joyce, as well as his style, to better understand Joyce's contributions to the literary world.
